Citizens of Saint Petersburg collected more than 4 tonnes of garbage in Shuvalov quarry. On
Thursday, the territory of the quarry in Primorsky district was cleaned from the piled up litter. The
event, organised by cooperative volunteers “Tasty. And that’s it” is a part of All-russian marathon to
clean the territories #MyEcoDay. It was supported by the Administration of Primorsky district and the
Committee of Natural Resources Management in Saint Petersburg
The Youth Council at the Head of Primorsky district actively supported the cleaning up. More than
one hundred people - volunteers and council members - have collected over 4 ton of both large and
small waste.
On that day Nikolai Grigorievich Tsed, State Duma deputy, also visited the Shuvalov quarry: “We
are glad to see that the business is being actively involved in the eco-agenda and it promotes
significant initiatives among employees. Indeed, the volunteers of “Tasty. And that’s it” once again
have contributed to the city. I am sure that such projects, overtaking the whole country, are and will
always
This year the marathon #MyEcoDay was held in 60 Russian cities so far, and about 3500 people took
part in the event. Volunteers jointly collected more than 40 tonnes of garbage.
The Committee of Natural Resources Management appreciates the initiatives of the companies,
unions and citizens, aimed at the careful attitude to the world around us, rational consumerism and
ecological education. In recent years, active environmental education campaigns have attracted more
and more interest: for example, plugging races, which, in an active competitive form, help participants
not only keep themselves in good physical shape, but also make the world around us cleaner,” said
Ekaterina Volokitina, Head of the Department for Development of Waste Management Infrastructure.
During the 3 years of holding #MyEcoDay campaign, we have done dozens of good deeds, but most
importantly, we have inspired thousands of people across the country to lead a more environmentally
friendly lifestyle. Every year, participants of our initiatives grow: more and more locals and
representatives of public organisations join us. We thank everyone who shares our perspective and
helps in promoting a culture of responsible waste attitude, - noted Alexey Egorov, production director
of “Tasty. That’s it” in the NorthWestern Federal District
The company strives to draw public attention to the problem of environmental pollution and provides
an opportunity for everyone to take a small but important step towards the cleanliness of their
hometown and region.
The #MyEcoDay volunteer campaign implements one of the directions of the sustainability strategy,
within the framework of which “Tasty. That’s it” t will continue to reduce the amount of nonrecyclable packaging and send the maximum amount of waste for recycling.
