What Not to Bring § Electronic equipment, including phones of any kind, personal computing devices, wearable technology, cameras, timers, audio players/recorders, smartwatches, or any other devices that can be used to send, receive, or record information. § Any highlighters, rulers, earplugs, dictionaries or other books, pens or mechanical or colored pencils, pamphlets, or papers of any kind, including scratch paper. § Weapons or firearms. If You Bring or Use Prohibited Devices You’ll need to turn off all electronic devices during the test and even during breaks. This includes phones. Be sure to turn off your watch alarm, if you have one. The testing staff will collect and hold phones and other prohibited electronic devices during the test administration. They can deny admission to anyone who is in possession of a prohibited electronic device. If your device makes noise (even if it has been collected) or you’re seen with it at any time, including during breaks, you’ll be dismissed immediately, your scores will be canceled, and the device may be confiscated and its contents inspected. College Board is not responsible for loss or damage to personal items, including electronic devices, while you’re in the test center. Refund Policy If you decide to cancel your test registration, you can request a partial refund of $10 no later than 5 days before the test date you registered for. Student ID cards aren’t valid. Testing in Ghana, Nepal, Nigeria, and Pakistan: The only acceptable form of identification is a valid passport. Testing in India: The only acceptable forms of identification are a valid Aadhaar card with your name and photograph or a valid passport. Testing in Egypt, Jordan, Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam: The only acceptable forms of identification are a valid passport or valid government issued photo ID from the country where you’re testing. Switching Between the SAT and the SAT with Essay You can change your Essay option on test day without a change fee, but you’ll be billed for the price difference between the two tests if you’re switching to the SAT® with Essay. You may be able to switch on test day during check in, but it’s up to the test coordinator and depends on whether they have enough materials, space, and staff.
