Открытый урок в 6 классе.
Тема урока: Праздники Великобритании. День Святого Валентина
Цель урока: ознакомление учащихся с обычаями и традициями празднования праздника
“St. Valentine’s Day” ( на примере Великобритании)
Задачи урока:
Обучающие:
1) Познакомить учащихся с традициями и обычаями празднования дня святого Валентина
в Великобритании
2) Способствовать формированию у учащихся навыков лингвострановедческой
компетенции
3) Активизировать лексику по теме “St. Valentine’s Day”
Развивающие:
1) Развивать навыки чтения, творческую фантазию, познавательный интерес, инициативу
в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности
Воспитательные:
1) Воспитывать у учащихся чувство прекрасного и уважение к культуре и традициям
других народов
2) Воспитывать чувство взаимной ответственности, прививать навыки работы в
коллективе.
Оборудование: компьютер,, раздаточный материал:
1) текст о возникновении праздника;
2) карточки с заданиями;
3) “валентинки”
Ход урока
1.
Организационный момент. Приветствие
-Good morning, dear boys and girls! Glad to see you! How are you? (Ответы нескольких
учащихся)
2. Речевая зарядка. (слайд №1)
Teacher: Do you like holidays?(Ответ) First of all we’ll discuss different holidays of the year.
Match the holidays and their descriptions, please.

about the history of Saint Valentine’s Day.

Текст: Some people associate Valentine Day with one or more saints of the early Christian
Church. Over the years various saints merged into one. Many legends have been handed down
about Saint Valentine.
One legend says that he secretly married young couples even though the emperor forbade young
men to marry. Another story says Valentine was a Christian who made friends with many
children .When he was put in prison for refusing to sign the Roman Gods, the children tossed
notes into his cell.
Another legend says that Valentine cured the jailor’s daughter of blindness and fell in love with
her. Supposedly, he sent her a letter which he signed “From your Valentine”

1) Teacher: To continue our work let’s this crossword: (слайд №3)
Cлова, которые помогут учащимся разгадать кроссворд: present, red, bride- невеста, broomжених, February, flowers, valentine, chocolate, heart сердце, propose- предлагать, vase, love,
heels- каблуки
Blood- кровь, kneel in front of a woman- становиться на колено перед женщиной, strong
feeling- сильное чувство, is about to be married- собирается жениться или выйти замуж.
Из букв в цветных клетках составляется девиз.
Slogan of the day is: LOVE CROSSES ALL BORDERS!
Teacher: Roses can be of different colors. What color is your favorite? (слайд №4) Отвечая,
ученики получают пазлы соответствующего цвета, учитель объясняет общепринятые
значения выбранных цветов:
Red means deep passion,
Pink- desire to be together,
Orange- great respect,
Blue- gentle attitude,
Green- close friendship.
Ученики собирают пазлы, из которых получаются сердечки. На обратной стороне они
могут написать коротенькое послание: (слайд № 5)

Valentine cake
Instead of buying a cake mold for Valentines you probably already have one! Bake a two layer
cake. One in a round pan, one in a square pan. When baked and cool… slice the round one in
half. Place each half of the round on two corner of the square and you will have a perfect
heart shape. Decorate with icing and imperils.
