There is no information on products subject to write-off in Ukraine and CIS countries. According to leading Russian retailers, the write-off is 2%. For example, the Germans dispose of about 20 million tons of food waste, and this is 1% of turnover and 1.5 billion euros. And that's just lean Germany. Americans throw away half of all their food [, which is $ 200 billion a year. which leads to losses for retailers equal to $ 18 billion. Stores around the world create 1.6 million tonnes of food waste every year (Institution of Mechanical Engineers). And these are only shops, excluding restaurants and cafes. In Europe and North America, food waste, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), ranges from 95 to 115 kg per person per year, while in Africa, South, and Southeast Asia - 611 kg. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), food waste accounts for 8% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. FAO finds that nearly 30% of the world's available agricultural land - 1.4 billion hectares is used for the production of under-eaten food. As for vegetables and fruits, according to statistics, depending on the region, from 10 to 20% of supplies are thrown away even at the stage of distribution. 30% of products from the risk group are dairy products, meat delicacies, eggs and bread, 11% - fruits and vegetables, 9% - chilled meat, poultry, fish.
