THE FORMATION AND CHARACTERISTICS OF CHINESE COMMUNITY
IN VIET NAM (HO CHI MINH CITY AS AN EXAMPLE)
The main purpose of this article is to analyse the origin and formation of the ethnic Chinese community in Ho Chi Minh
City. The article not only points out some specific features of their residence, garment and tradition, but also determines that
activities of cultural communities and folk groups contribute to the preservation of their own language and contacts with the local
people. In addition, the article also refers to the contribution of the Chinese ethnic group and their role in the establishment and
development of Ho Chi Minh city.
