poet of England. He draw
ideas for his tragedies and
comedies from the history of
England and ancient Rome.
His best-known plays are: “Othello”, “Hamlet”, “Romeo
and Juliet”, “Much Ado about Nothing”, “King Lear”.

It tells the story of a girl named Alice,
who falls through a rabbit hole into an
imaginary world inhabited by strange
anthropomorphic creatures. The fairy
tale enjoys steady popularity among both
children and adults. The book is
considered one of the best examples of
literature in the genre of the absurd; it
uses numerous mathematical, linguistic
and philosophical jokes and allusions.

founded the Darell
Wildlife Trust and the
Jersey Zoo on the

Jersey in 1959.
He wrote about forty books, mostly about his expeditions to exotic
countries for wild animals, but the most famous of them is "My
Family and other Animals" about his childhood on the Greek island
of Corfu.
