Act 1
Music. Dance group. Dance with newspapers.
Act 2 (Passepartout and Fix are standing in Suez port.)
Fix: 'Can I help you?'
Passepartout: 'You are very kind,' ' This is Suez?'
' Fix: Yes,' Suez, in Egypt, in Africa.'
Passepartout (looked at Fix with wide eyes): 'Africa! This morning I saw Paris again, from 7.20
to 8.15 in the morning, through the windows of a train. And now I am here in Africa.'
Fix: 'You haven't got much time, then?'
Passepartout: No, Mr. Fogg hasn't got much time. Oh, and I have to buy some clothes. We came
away with only one small bag for the journey.'
Fix: 'I'll show you the way to the shops.'
Passepartout: 'Thank you,
Fix: I think you left London quickly.'
Passepartout: 'Oh yes! we started our journey last Wednesday.'
Fix: ‘But where is Mr. Fogg going?'
Passepartout: 'Round the world in eighty days. He says it is for a bet.'
Fix: ' Is he rich?'
Passepartout: 'I think he is.’ 'He has a lot of new banknotes with him. He gave the captain of the
Mongolia a lot of money because he wanted to get to Bombay early.'
Fix: Here are the shops. You can buy everything here.’ 'And you've got time for lunch.'
Passepartout: ‘Lunch? It's 9.52 in the morning!'
Fix: 'No, it's 11.52. 'You've got London time on your watch. That's two hours behind Suez time.
When you go round the -world, time changes. On your journey you'll have to change the time on
your watch for each new country.'
Passepartout: 'What! Change the time on my watch? Never! Thank you, sir. Good bye!’ (leaves)
Fix: Good bye!
(to himself) Phileas Fogg is tall and wears expensive clothes. He left London quickly. He had a lot
of money in new banknotes. I Know who he is. He is the robber of the Bank of England. I’m going
to send a telegramme to London and ask for a warrant in Bombay. (leaves).
Act 3
Dance group: Indian dance (изображая джунгли, танец c ленточками. Среди танцующих –

Aouda: Please, Mister, save my life!
Phileas Fogg: Who’s that woman?
Guide: Her name is Aouda. Her father had a big company in Bombay. But when her father and
mother died she had to marry an old man. Now he’s dead and the relatives are going to kill her.
Aouda: I do not want to die!
Phileas Fogg: I’m Phileas Fogg. We'll get you out of here!
Guide: 'Please think before you try that. The Old man’s relatives are dangerous.'
Passepartout: 'But, Mr. Fogg, the bet ...'

Aouda: 'I will be one more problem for you ...'
Phileas Fogg: 'You're not a problem. And you won't change our timetable. ‘I am one day early.
We can use the day well, and take you to Europe. Passepartout, first we’ll go to Hong Kong by the
Camatiс and then to Yokohama.
Aouda: To Yokohama? But how can we get to Europe?
Phileas Fogg: First a ship will take us from Yokohama to San Francisco. There we’ll take a train
to New York. And lastly from New York we’ll take a ship to Europe.
Passepartout: The world is a very big place.
Phileas Fogg: It was a big place.
Aouda: What do you mean – “was”? Is it smaller now?'
Phileas Fogg: I mean, you can go round the world more quickly now. I promised to go round the
world in eighty days. So I have to be back to London on Saturday, 21st December at 8.45 in the
evening.
Aouda: I do hope you’ll manage to do that!
(there is a dancing group on the stage - people in the port)
Act 4
Passepartout and Aouda. Passepartout sees Fix
Passepartout: 'What is Mr. Fix doing on this ship? We saw him in Suez and now here he is again.
Aouda: Is he following Mr. Fogg? Why?'
Passepartout : I guess he is working for the five men at the Reform Club. He is watching Mr. Fogg
because of the bet.'
Aouda: What should we do? Shall we tell about him to Mr. Fogg?
Passepartout: No, never. Miss Aouda, they call me Jean Passepartout, because in French a "
passepartout" can open every door. When things are bad, I can always get out. Don’t worry, I can
get out of anything!'
Aouda: It’s so nice of you. I don’t want to make Mr. Fogg upset either. Can you bring me a glass
of water?
(leaves)
Passepartout and Fix
Fix: Let's talk.'
Passepartout: 'Talk?
Fix: 'Yes. I want to help your Mr. Fogg now.'
Passepartout: 'Oh!' So now you know that Mr. Fogg is not a thief.'
Fix: No. He's a thief and I have a warrant for him but I can't use it here. Mr. Fogg
wants to get to England quickly, and I want him to get there too. We can be friends.
Passepartout: 'Friends Never!' said Passepartout. ' But you can help Mr. Fogg. That's fine.
Fix: 'I'll help him. A Scotland Yard detective can do a lot of things.
Act 5
(there is a dancing group on the stage - The American Indians – выбегают на сцену, окружают
героев, Ф.Фогг стреляет вверх, индейцы разбегаются, Герои сидят на чемоданах, выглядят
расстроенными)
Fix: The train left without us
Passepartout: The next train is this evening.
Aouda: But that is too late.
Phileas Fogg: I’m now twenty hours behind my timetable. No ship or train could get me to London
by the 21st of December.

Act 6
На сцене появляется моряк со штурвалом и поет песню.
Phileas Fogg: Are you leaving New York, Captain?
Captain: In an hour.
Aouda: Where are you going?
Captain: To Liverpool.
Fix: Can you take us with you?
Captain: No, I don't take people. I take things.
Phileas Fogg: Fast? Do you take things fast?
Captain: Yes. Very fast. The Henrietta does twelve miles an hour.
Phileas Fogg: Will you take me, and three other people, to Liverpool, Captain . . .What's your
name?'
Captain: My name's Speedy and the answer's no!
Phileas Fogg: I can give you two thousand dollars.
Captain: For each person?
Phileas Fogg: Yes.
Captain: Eight thousand dollars! We're leaving at nine.
(Song)
Phileas Fogg: Thank you, Captain!
Captain: Good luck!
Act 7
Phileas Fogg: It’s 11.40, the 21st of December.
Aouda: And we are here in Liverpool.
Fix: ' Phileas Fogg. I'm a Scotland Yard detective. Please come with me to the nearest police
station.'
Passepartout: ‘It’s a mistake, Mr. Fix. They have the Bank of England thief in prison.
Fix: How did you get to know?
Passepartout: I have just read about it in the newspaper.
Fix: 'Mr. Fogg!' I’m sorry. I'm very sorry.
Phileas Fogg: t. But now I’ll be five minutes late when the train arrives in London. I’ve lost the
bet. I’m a poor man now.
Aouda: Don’t get upset! Oh, Have a look at the newspaper!
Passepartout: 'Yes, look at the date!' Today is Friday, the 20th of December! We arrived in England
a day early.
Phileas Fogg: Of course! When you go round the world to the west, you lose one day. But when
you go round the world to the east, you have one more day.
Passepartout: Lets go, Mr. Fogg! You will get to the Reform Club on time.
(Dance group)
