The article is devoted to the question of interaction between articulation skills as an ethnolinguistic phenomenon and sound production and virtuosity in flute playing. Using the authoritative linguistic works and both Russian and foreign flute methods, the author compares phonetic peculiarities of the French, German, English and Russian languages with flautist’ articulation basis, proves interdependence of a native language and flute sound production and reveals the French language’s advantages for that matter over some other European languages.
