The Abstract: This paper presents the main results of the author’s research of investment activities of the State Corporation «Olympstroy» in conditions of insider control. This corporation is in
charge of preparation and organization of Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 and particularly of construction of a large number of Olympic facilities and infrastructure. The paper considers the key features of the corporation, the infrastructure elements of insider control, mechanisms of funds withdrawal. By analyzing the cost overruns in construction of Olympic facilities and comparing of capital
expenditures with a group of analogues the scale of rent withdrawal is estimated.
