Abstract. Abstract. Treatment of migratory ascariasis with mebendazole or
mebendazole combined with indometacin results in complete, dehelminthization of the
infected animals. Therapy of larval ascariasis with albendazole or albendazole plus
indometacin leads to decrease of invasion intensity by 97% and 96% respectively.
Introduction of levamizole in experimental animals, or levamizole plus indometacin
provides destruction of 98% of ascarides larvae. Migration of ascarides larvae is
accompanied by decrease of thyrotropic hormone, triiodothyronine and thyroxin levels.
The specific and pathogenetic therapy performed during migratory stage of ascariasis,
provides the development of less expressed shifts in pituitary-thyroid system in
comparison with the changes caused only by migration of ascarides larvae.
