The evolution of armament and tactics is considered, as well as the wars and battles which the Goths took part in. The main point is to analyze the entrenched opinion about the Goths as the great and glorious warriors, which inflicted great damage to the Roman Empire. The conclusion is made, that such an opinion is absolutely false and that the military structures of the Gothic society were weak and underdeveloped.
